 Free WiFi Before You Fly

YVR is pleased to be the first major airport in Canada to offer free wireless access to the Internet (WiFi) throughout our terminals、both pre- and post-security.

WiFi has been available for the past number of years as a paid service、however passengers voiced concerns about the price of the service and usage was low.

Over the last few months、more than 70 WiFi antennas、or access points、have been installed throughout the International、Domestic and South Terminals. Users looking to browse from a laptop or WiFi-enabled phone simply start their Internet browser、and are presented with a YVR-branded welcome page. From there、a single click links to the Web or to YVR.ca for flight information and more.

Launched on November 1、the free service is already being used by passengers and employees an average of 2,500 to 3,000 times per day. Positive feedback is pouring in from passengers who find the free service a helpful option、particularly business travellers regularly on the go through YVR. Before its launch、free Internet access routinely topped the list of YVR customer requests、and we are delighted to offer this convenient service.

YVR has long been an airport leader in providing WiFi; when Nokia first introduced wireless Internet access in 2000、YVR was the first airport in North America to offer the service.

We know passengers want to get through YVR quickly、easily and with some conveniences along the way. Free WiFi is just another way we're improving the YVR experience.
